A small caddy spoon from my Celtic collection, hand carved from Beech wood from Gloucestershire.

The Hexefus, also known as The Witch’s Knot or The Witch’s charm, is heavily rooted in Celtic folklore and European tradition. It is often classified as a protective symbol, historically associated with Irish Celtic traditions, representing the four elements, four seasons, and four directions.

It is a stylized, four-cornered knot, sometimes called the "knot of mara," which was traditionally scratched over doors to keep away negative energy and evil spirits.

The caddy spoon is small and petite, made to be kept in jars of your favourite tea/coffee/potions.

Carved in Beech wood, finished with a beeswax/mineral oil mix and kolrosing.

Care Instructions

This is a hand carved wooden item and knife and tool marks may still be present. Please do not put wooden items in the dishwasher. Hand wash only with warm soapy water and leave to air dry. You may wish to oil your spoon every once in a while if it starts looking thirsty. A coat of food safe oil (tung oil, nut oils etc) will nourish the wood and keep it looking fresh.
