Learn the traditional craft of wooden spoon carving with me, Tamsin Quin, in the beautiful surroundings of Brandiers Farm, Minety, Wiltshire.
This is a HALF day course where we will each craft our own wooden spoon from a pre-cut wood blank that will be prepared for you before-hand. You will learn simple knife techniques with a straight knife and hook knife, learn about wood species and form, and the ergonomics of spoons for different uses. This course is suitable for beginners and improvers, no previous experience is needed. Its a fun day to learn a new skill in a natural environment and perhaps pick up a new hobby.

Each day runs from 10am - 1pm.
Tools and materials included. Lunch NOT included but you're welcome to bring a picnic for after.
Suitable for ages 14+. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

This is a hand carved wooden item and knife and tool marks may still be present. Please do not put wooden items in the dishwasher. Hand wash only with warm soapy water and leave to air dry. You may wish to oil your spoon every once in a while if it starts looking thirsty. A coat of food safe oil (tung oil, nut oils etc) will nourish the wood and keep it looking fresh.
