Great old stag coffee scoop. The monarch of the trees will watch over and bless your coffee, dried teas and other earthly treasures, bringing wise protection magic into your home.
Hand-carved from Wiltshire Cherry, this spoon is kolrossed with the design full of the majesty of the woodlands.
Kolrosing is an ancient Scandinavian technique where the design is cut into the wood with a sharp blade. The cuts are then filled with a colour pigment (I use cinnamon powder) and then burnished and oiled to trap the colour under the fibers of the wood. Essentially a wood tattoo! A hard wearing and permanent form of decoration.
Carved with hand tools only.
A delightfully spiritual design in a functional scoop.

Care Instructions
This is a hand carved wooden item and knife and tool marks may still be present. Please do not put wooden items in the dishwasher. Hand wash only with warm soapy water and leave to air dry. You may wish to oil your spoon every once in a while if it starts looking thirsty. A coat of food safe oil (tung oil, nut oils etc) will nourish the wood and keep it looking fresh.
